Review by George W. Plesa for Sole F85 Treadmill Rating:
I’m on my third console in 3 years not to mention the fact that I’ve had to replace the circuit board, front roller assembly, elevation motor assembly, and the wiring cable to the hand controls. The pulse sensor is useless. I do the maintenance on it religiously since I use it so much. Sole has been good about sending the replacement parts but when the warranty runs out I think I’ll sell it and try another brand. The console is $369.00 and most are now rebuilt. It’s great to run on but the electronics scare me.
Review by Matthew Corn for Sole F85 Treadmill Rating:
*Review is for Sole S77, essentially the same machine, but not folding.*
I got my S77 about 2 months ago, and have used it constantly. It is quiet at anything under 10mph, changes speed and incline fairly quickly, and has quite a long running surface. I am 6’2″ and 250lbs, and it has no problem handling me.
There are a few things to keep in mind when looking at the S77, though.
1. The fans blow, and I don’t mean air. If you must have airflow, set a fan next to the treadmill and point it at yourself.
2. The speakers are not audiophile quality. They do, however, play music from an ipod, etc. just fine, and plenty loud. You are 15″ away from them, it doesn’t take much.
3. Hill mode is different than what I expected. It is not a bad thing, just different. On most gym treadmills, i.e. Star Trac, etc. you set a speed, and Hill mode adjusts the incline only. On the S77, you set the MAX speed, and the speed and incline are adjusted together, not always linearly. I ended up liking it better, actually.
As far as emulating normal Hill mode, it is quite easy. Set the program to Manual, choose your speed. Then, use the GIANT incline buttons to select your incline manually, changing it every so often. I am a clock watcher, so regular increments come easy for me, and I don’t mind doing this myself.
TLDR – Great treadmill. Awesome treadmill. Consider it fanless, though.
OH YEAH! Yes, the assembly was quite easy. However, have a friend available to help you lug this around. Everything is light, except for the motor/running surface, where 95% of the weight resides.
Review by Schmegagy for Sole F85 Treadmill Rating:
Very, very good product. Only thing is, the “STOP” button broke and fell into the console after two (2) days. Fantastic customer service, though, sent us a new console in a couple of days, no hesitation at all. I am sure it was less expensive than attempting to have someone come out and replace the button, as the mounting housing was part of the interior of the console. All said, I would rate a 96 out of 100. Program choices, including two customized programs for User 1 and User 2 (in addition to other programs), plug in for sound, fan, capacity, speed, incline, and easy-to-understand instructions for use and assembly make this a superior choice. The assembly required is minimal and a 12-year-old could (did) follow the instructions. Worth every penny (and yes, it was a fair number of pennies).
Review by M. Jackson for Sole F85 Treadmill Rating:
I run 25-40 miles a week and have run several marathons. Living in Seattle, I struggle with training in the winter when it is dark and rainy and with a 2-year old son I find the only time I want to run is when he is sleeping. That being said, I decided to pull the trigger on a treadmill that was sturdy enough for running yet didnt break the bank (like a landice). I settled on the sole F85 after months of research and now that I have used it for 4 months I feel qualified to write a review…
First of all the thing weighs a ton (300 lbs actually) so it is worth the extra money to have it moved unless you have at least 3 strong (adult males- no offense) movers to help you. That being said, once it is set up it feels like a tank. This is a high-quality treadmill that feels every bit as sturdy as any of the treadmills I have used in a gym. It is moderately difficult to put together but not impossible and took about 45 minutes.
The ride on the deck is perfect. Not to hard and not to soft or bouncy. The controls on the arms are a must if you plan to change your speed frequently (such as when using the heart rate monitor function and included chest strap which I found to be moderately accurate. The console is great and so far I havent had any problems with the electronics as is described in some of the negative reviews.
Overall the motor, the warranty, the overall quality of this machine is top notch. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the weak little fan! Like other reviewers, it would be so easy with such a big motor on the rollers to just plug it in to make it a decent fan! Such a small thing but had to mention it and it is the ONLY thing wrong so far.
Review by W. Lawson for Sole F85 Treadmill Rating:
Purchased my F85 in November 09 to train for my first marathon. Since then I’ve put 56 hours and 387 miles on it without any problems. The deck is quiet and flexes enough for a comfortable run. Speakers are fine for listening as you run, and it folds up into a relatively small footprint. It is easy to move around, even on carpet. I am very happy with this tread.
Pros: Easy to move
Sturdy and flexible deck
No problems in over a year of ownership.
Speakers are fine for running.
Quiet
Cons: The dual fans are worthless. Do not expect anything from them, and you will still be disappointed.
A worthwhile purchase, and I finished Pittsburgh in 3:47. Not bad for a first marathon.
Review by M. Masitto for LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill Rating:
I live in a downtown condo and wanted something compact to fit into my spare bedroom / office. I was looking at this unit which I bought and an Evolve treadmill. Both treadmill dimensions allow for under the bed storage or in my case under my futon which is what I was looking for. I also was looking for something that I could do some fairly consistent walking 3- 4 days at 20-30 minutes…I am not a jogger or runner (BTW I would not see this unit being ideal for real heavy running use). I was looking for a treadmill that I could use my iPod with which both units do. It came down to (2) factors for me why I picked the TR 200. The first is that my unit has incline which the other unit does not…I use the incline a lot to burn more calories and mix up my walks. What is really nice is since I change the incline often I use the buttons on the console that I can go to a specific incline. The second and not as important was that the motor size is a little bit bigger than the other compact units I looked at. The treadmill is 100% assembled in the box…I cut the back end of the box and rolled the treadmill out so I did not have to lift the treadmill out of the box. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this treadmill for those limited on space or for walkers.
Review by M. Krause for LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill Rating:
I bought this treadmill and have it set up in my bedroom. I wanted a compact treadmill that I could keep in my bedroom so that it would not be “out of sight, out of mind”…the best part is that if I want I can fold the treadmill up and put it in my closet. Other things that I really enjoy with this treadmill is the console. It has the buttons that you can push that take you directly to the speed or incline that you want to be at. The console is easy to read and I like to watch my progress during my workout so the profile is nice, it is on the smaller side but is ample to show your status. It does come with program options but I have not used them yet as I just keep the treadmill in manual mode and adjust the speed and incline based on how I feel. The treadmill is very quiet and smooth when changing your mph’s and it does allow you to make changes to a tenth of a mph. I typically am between 3-4 mph BUT note that this treadmill only goes up to 8 mph so if you need to go faster you should look at another treadmill.
Shipping information: the treadmill was delivered by ABF and I received a call 4 days after I ordered to schedule a delivery appointment. The treadmill was delivered to my garage and I had to get it in my house and upstairs into my bedroom. It really is as simple as this…take the box top off, remove the styrofoam and tear down the back of the box. Once this is done, you can lift the back of the treadmill and it rolls right out of the box and to where you want the treadmill. lift up the handlebars and lock them in, plug in the power cord, attach the safety key and push START…there is NO assembly whatsoever! AWESOME!
Other comments…the treadmill does have speakers and they are what they are—nothing spectacular but they work. I have a iHOME in my room but if I want to adjust the volume or change the song I have to get off the treadmill so it is easier to plug my iPod into the treadmill and you can place the iPod into the magazine rack. It does have a speaker jack but I don’t see me ever using these but it is there. Contact pulse grips are nice and I hang my towel on the handlebars.

I was looking for something that would not overtake our den and simply used for walking. (When we want it completely out of the way we have folded it flat and rolled it under the pool table.) We looked at the Evolve unit, Phoenix unit and utlimately decided on the TR 200 because it has incline and felt more comfortable with this brand with the online awards and reviews.
Their is no assembly which was great! We used a handtruck to get the unit down into the den — SO I WOULD NOT GET ANY ADDITIONAL DELIVERY OR ASSEMBLY SERVICES. The speakers are just OK…sound is much better thru the headphones. The buttons to push to go to specific speeds and inclines are very nice.
Very pleased with this unit. It is very quiet and also we are very surprised how sturdy and stable the treadmill. Woudl recommend this for anyone looking for a good quality walking treadmill or if you are limited on space.
Review by amazon shopper for LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill Rating:
This is a wonderful treadmill! It comes ready to use right out of the box with absolutely no assembly, is very well lubricated, and is quiet. The last treadmill I bought I had to assemble and that did not go well as many of the screws did not fit where they were supposed to, none of those problems here. It has a lot of programs that keep working out interesting. The power cord could be a bit longer however, but it works wonderfully and is very easy to fold to store upright. It is heavier than I expected, so moving it around (like storing it under a bed or in a closet) will not be possible for me. I am really thrilled with the product.
However, the delivery company, CEVA, was absolutely terrible! First of all, pay NO attention to the estimated delivery date, it only applies to when they expect to receive it into their warehouse and has nothing whatsoever to do with when it will be available to be delivered to the buyer. I wish I had known that from the start, amazon.com really needs to make that clear in their package tracking section. Secondly, although amazon.com can provide you with a phone number to contact CEVA, CEVA is only open from 8AM-4PM and I was disconnected often when their staff put me on hold. Thirdly, although you have to sign that you received the item in good condition, they do not even wait for you to open the box! They gave me no information on how to return it if it was damaged, so thank goodness it wasn’t because you are supposed to cut the box open in order to roll out the treadmill. Supposedly, they call you when the item is available to be delivered but they never called me, I had to call them.
I would highly recommend the treadmill, but don’t expect to receive it in any less than 2 weeks.

My wife and I want to get a treadmill to have regular cardiovascular exercise in our bedroom. We are not runners so we do not need a treadmill that goes faster than 10 minutes per mile. Since our bedroom is upstair, we need a treadmill that we can move around easily ourselves. Also, we are not handy so we were concerned about spending too much time to put the treadmill together. LifeSpan TR200 fits all our needs. It is light enough that we can move it upstair no problem. It came already assembled and minimal work to get it started. This treadmill looks much better than the picture, very stylish and sturdy. The only wish I have is if it were 6 inches wider.
